Lintusen Press is a collaborative micropress in Salmon Arm BC, Canada.
We began publishing in 2011 with Shawn Bird’s YA novel Grace Awakening Dreams. We have released several volumes of poetry, short stories, novellas, and novels, but branched into collaborative anthologies in 2021 with The Drabble Advent Calendar.
We’re taking the skills we developed over a decade of indie publishing to make opportunities for authors to publish their stories within a nurturing and collaborative community.
We believe in sharing the profit and risk of creative endeavour equitably between all contributors. Publication is royalty share. Our goal is to create fun reading experiences with books you are proud to share with readers.
.WHAT OUR AUTHORS SAY:
“I love working with Lintusen Press. Their calls are always fun, they do royalty share, and their editor, Shawn Bird is a skilled and conscientious editor. I always add their calls to my submission list because, beyond having my words in another excellent book, I know the experience will be delightful.”
~Finnian Burnett

WHAT IS ROYALTY SHARE?
After the costs to physically produce physical books or deliver the ebooks, the remainder is the royalty. With a traditional publication model a short story may be paid upfront by word (typically 1-8c), no matter how many anthologies sell, or 8-10% of retail for books, paid once or twice a year.
In royalty share, the editor, formatter, publisher, cover artist, and the author share the royalties according to a contractually agreed upon rate. At Lintusen Press the rate is a % of the individual author’s contribution to an anthology and between 40-60% for a single author novella. The author doesn’t pay upfront for the book editing, formatting, design, etc., so everyone takes equal risk before publication and shares profit equally with a book’s success.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When your work is accepted by Lintusen Press you open an account with Draft2Digital.com. The final book is uploaded to and distributed internationally by D2D. They calculate and pay you any royalties monthly into a Paypal account.
Let’s build something together.
